Cannabis Consumption Lounges in Nevada
Las Vegas finally has legal lounges — but options remain limited despite high demand from tourists.
Nevada legalized cannabis consumption lounges through Assembly Bill 341 in 2021, solving a long-standing problem: millions of tourists could legally buy cannabis but had virtually nowhere to legally consume it. After years of regulatory development, the first state-licensed lounge opened in February 2024. However, as of late 2025, only one state-licensed lounge and one tribal lounge are currently operating in Las Vegas — far fewer than originally anticipated.

Common Questions
Can I bring cannabis from the dispensary to a consumption lounge?
No. Nevada law requires you to purchase cannabis directly from the lounge — you cannot bring products from an attached dispensary or from another store. Even if the lounge is inside or next to a dispensary, lounge consumption and dispensary purchases are completely separate.
Can I smoke weed in my hotel room on the Strip?
Almost certainly not. Major Strip resorts prohibit cannabis consumption, and violating this policy can result in cleaning fees ($250-$500+) or eviction. Some downtown or off-Strip hotels with smoking rooms may be more lenient — always call ahead and specifically ask about cannabis, not just "smoking."
What happens if I get caught smoking in public?
Public cannabis consumption in Nevada can result in a civil fine of up to $600. While enforcement varies, it's not worth the risk. Use a licensed lounge or private residence.
How many consumption lounges are there in Las Vegas?
As of late 2025, only two are operating: Dazed! at Planet 13 (state-licensed) and NuWu Sky High Lounge (tribal). Smoke and Mirrors opened in 2024 but has since closed. Despite dozens of licenses being issued, the regulatory and buildout process has been slow.
Can tourists use Nevada consumption lounges?
Absolutely! You just need to be 21+ with a valid government ID. Tourism is a major driver — an estimated 60% of lounge visitors are tourists. Nevada law applies equally to residents and visitors.
Is the NuWu lounge different from other lounges?
Yes. NuWu Sky High Lounge is operated by the Las Vegas Paiute Tribe on tribal land and is not regulated by the Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board. It operates under tribal sovereignty. However, it's fully legal for visitors and offers a similar experience to state-licensed lounges.
What's the maximum I can consume at a lounge?
The session limit is 50mg THC maximum per visit. Individual edible servings are capped at 10mg THC. Lounges must offer low-dose options (2mg THC or 0.5g flower). Staff track purchases to prevent over-serving.
Can I drink alcohol at a cannabis lounge?
No. Alcohol is strictly prohibited at all Nevada consumption lounges. However, many lounges offer THC-infused mocktails (cannabis cocktails without alcohol), typically containing up to 5mg of cannabis oil.
Why aren't there more lounges open yet?
The regulatory process is lengthy and expensive. Advanced ventilation systems alone cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. Local approvals add time. Most license holders are still working through requirements. The CCB is actively working with licensees to help more open.
Can I take home what I don't finish at a lounge?
No. All cannabis purchased at a consumption lounge must be consumed on-site. You cannot leave with unused products. This is why lounges offer single-use and ready-to-consume products rather than full packages.
