Medical delivery now available through licensed dispensaries
Kentucky's medical cannabis program, created by Senate Bill 47 in 2023, became legal January 1, 2025, and the first dispensary sale happened December 13, 2025 at The Post Dispensary in Beaver Dam. From the start, state regulation has authorized home delivery: licensed dispensaries can deliver up to a 30-day supply directly to a registered patient's residential address, under specific vehicle security and staffing rules. There is no recreational cannabis market in Kentucky, so everything here applies to registered medical patients. As of July 1, 2026, Kentucky also stopped recognizing out-of-state medical cannabis purchases, meaning cardholders now have to buy within Kentucky. Here is how delivery actually works.
Cannabis delivery in Kentucky is offered directly by licensed dispensaries to registered patients. The state has 48 licensed dispensaries, with 24 open as of late August 2026.

Getting cannabis delivered in Kentucky requires registering with the state medical program first, then working directly with a licensed dispensary:
Kentucky's program covers conditions including cancer, chronic pain, epilepsy or other seizure disorders, multiple sclerosis and muscle spasms, chronic nausea, PTSD, and terminal illness, among others certified by a practitioner.
