Chandler grew from a farming town into one of the Valley's biggest tech employment centers almost entirely because of one company: Intel, whose Ocotillo campus employs thousands of chip-manufacturing workers and anchors a whole corridor of supporting businesses along Price Road. Adults 21+ pay a 16% state marijuana excise tax on top of the standard 5.6% state transaction privilege tax plus city and county tax, which pushes most receipts to roughly 24-27% total at checkout; registered medical patients skip the 16% excise tax entirely, which is why renewing a card still pencils out for regular buyers even in a recreational-legal state. Arizona's dispensary map mixes national multistate operators with homegrown chains, and shelf lineups vary by region. Trulieve operates across a wide swath of the state including Chandler, Glendale, Mesa, Peoria, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe, and Tucson. Curaleaf runs locations including Gilbert and Sedona.
