What sets Marietta apart is retail choice: both Trulieve and Botanical Sciences operate dispensaries in the city, the only place in Georgia where patients can directly compare two operators without leaving town. That gives Marietta-area patients more flexibility on hours, inventory, and pricing than almost anywhere else in the state.

Both dispensaries sit along the Cobb Parkway and Windy Hill Road corridor near I-75 - Trulieve at 220 Cobb Parkway North and Botanical Sciences at 2468 Windy Hill Road, a stretch of chain retail and office parks that any Cobb County landlord would recognize as the area's primary commercial gateway. Kennesaw State University sits a short drive northwest, adding a student and staff population to the mix of patients who use these two stores.

Braves games at nearby Truist Park and The Battery Atlanta send traffic surging through the same Cobb Parkway corridor both dispensaries sit on, something patients timing a visit around game night should plan around. With SB 220's flower and vape rollout underway statewide, Marietta's two operators give Cobb County patients an unusually direct way to compare which store gets the new product categories in stock first.

Georgia legalized a narrow medical cannabis program in 2015 and spent nearly a decade building almost nothing on top of it - dispensaries did not open until 2023, and the product list stayed frozen at low-THC oil, capsules, and topicals capped at 5% THC. That changed on May 12, 2026, when Governor Brian Kemp signed Senate Bill 220, the Putting Georgia's Patients First Act, and most of its provisions took effect July 1, 2026.
