Newnan, known historically as "the city Sherman refused to burn" for its surviving stock of antebellum homes, serves as the Coweta County seat and a growing bedroom community for South Metro Atlanta. Newnan's antebellum downtown draws steady weekend history tourists, none of whom can purchase at the Bullsboro Drive counter without a Georgia-issued card no matter what their home state allows. As flower and vape products roll out under SB 220 statewide, South Metro patients who once drove to Atlanta for those categories now have reason to check Newnan's shelf first.

Georgia legalized a narrow medical cannabis program in 2015 and spent nearly a decade building almost nothing on top of it - dispensaries did not open until 2023, and the product list stayed frozen at low-THC oil, capsules, and topicals capped at 5% THC.
