Getting to P-town at all requires either the full drive down Route 6 to land's end or a seasonal ferry from Boston, both of which shape how visitors plan a cannabis purchase around their trip.

Massachusetts voters approved recreational marijuana at the ballot box in November 2016, and the first licensed dispensaries opened in November 2018 - nearly two years before most neighboring states had any adult-use retail at all.
