Recreational purchases carry a 10% state cannabis excise tax stacked on top of the regular 5.75% state sales tax and whatever local sales tax applies, for an effective rate of roughly 16.5% to 17.5% depending on the city. Delivery is still not legal for adult-use customers — SB 56 opened the door to medical-only delivery, but the Division of Cannabis Control had not finalized those rules as of September 2026, so every purchase in this guide assumes an in-person dispensary visit.
