None of that changes the headline fact for 2026: Oklahoma remains medical-only, cannabis is not sold to the general public, and visitors expecting a walk-in adult-use shop need a $100 temporary patient license first.

Oklahoma has no real statewide brand tier to speak of. With more than 1,700 licensed growers and 570 processors feeding fewer than 1,300 shops, the market is dominated by small, single-location craft growers and processors that never scale beyond a dispensary or two - ask your local shop which of its house or partner brands moves fastest, because inventory turns over quickly in a market this saturated. The 2026 story is consolidation, not growth. The licensing moratorium now runs through August 2028, so the roughly 1,300 dispensaries operating today are the market for the next two years - no new shops, only existing operators opening additional locations. A second recreational ballot push, State Question 837, was withdrawn by its organizers in November 2025 without collecting signatures, keeping Oklahoma medical-only for the foreseeable future.
