Moores Mill Cannabis Guide: Auburn, Alabama
Where people in Moores Mill actually buy, what it costs, and what is legal in Auburn, Alabama as of September 2026.
Moores Mill Overview
Moore's Mill is the upscale south Auburn area built around the Moore's Mill Club and its golf course, with custom houses on wooded lots, tennis courts and private walking trails. It consistently ranks among the most expensive addresses in the city. None of that affects the cannabis picture, which is governed entirely by state licensing: Lee County has no dispensary, the closest operating one is an hour southwest in Montgomery, and Alabama recognizes no way to shorten the trip other than sending a registered caregiver in your place.
Delivery in Moores Mill
Club membership and private roads make no difference to a program the legislature confined to licensed premises. A caregiver enrolled with the state is the only person who can make the drive on a patient's behalf.
Local Pricing
Alabama's market is too small for pricing to vary by neighborhood income. Every patient pays the same state charges, and the single counter within reach sets its own prices without publishing them.
Moores Mill FAQ
Can a club prohibit possession on its grounds?
Yes. A private property owner sets its own rules, and holding a state card does not create a right to possess or use on someone else's property.
Is there a concierge route to certification?
No shortcut exists. Any Alabama physician with current medical board registration can certify a qualifying condition, and no premium service changes the requirement.
Does the state track purchases across dispensaries?
Yes. The registry follows a patient rather than a store, so buying at different licensed locations does not reset your dosing allowance.

Cannabis in Moores Mill, Auburn
Auburn is built around Auburn University and the I-85 corridor connecting Montgomery to the Georgia line; university staff, students, and a growing base of aerospace and tech suppliers drive much of the local economy. The AMCC has not named it to the approved dispensing list. The closest working options are Montgomery, about 55 miles southwest via I-85 and US-80 (roughly 1 hour), home to Callie's Apothecary, and Oxford, roughly 70 miles north, where RJK Holdings AL has a planned location.
Verify current distance and hours before traveling, as both require a real drive from East Alabama.
Montgomery's Atlanta Highway storefront sits inside a conventional retail corridor rather than a stand-alone medical district, so Auburn patients can expect to run other errands during the same trip. Reports from other new counters describe matching the card against a photo ID at check-in, a modest line depending on the hour, and paper money as the more dependable way to pay, with no indication Montgomery runs any differently. Auburn University's faculty and staff, together with a growing base of aerospace and automotive-supplier employees drawn by the university's engineering programs, make up much of the local patient population likely to seek certification for chronic pain or anxiety-related conditions.
Alabama does not run city-by-city card or product rules; those are fixed statewide and detailed in the guide above, not repeated here.
Alabama Statewide Context
Alabama's medical cannabis program is real but still very young. The Darren Wesley 'Ato' Hall Compassion Act passed in 2021 and created the Alabama Medical Cannabis Commission (AMCC), but license awards were tied up in litigation for years afterward. That changed on December 11, 2025, when the AMCC voted to approve dispensary licenses, and on January 8, 2026, three companies were issued licenses: CCS of Alabama, GP6 Wellness, and RJK Holdings AL. A fourth award, to Yellowhammer, was stayed pending an administrative challenge.
Callie's Apothecary, operated by CCS of Alabama, opened in Montgomery on June 4, 2026 as the state's first legally operating dispensary. A second Callie's opened at 309 Battle Street West in Talladega on August 28, 2026, and a third, in Bessemer near Birmingham, was expected in September 2026. GP6 Wellness has been building out BamaBloom dispensaries in Athens and Birmingham, also targeted for September 2026, with a third GP6 site approved for Attalla in Etowah County, and RJK Holdings AL has approved sites planned for Oxford, Mobile, and Daphne. That is the whole approved map: nine cities across three licensees. CCS moved its third site from Cullman to Bessemer before opening, so Cullman is not an approved location.
Recreational cannabis is illegal statewide - a misdemeanor on a first personal-use offense, with felony exposure for repeat or larger-quantity possession. Only registered patients with a valid Alabama medical cannabis card may purchase, and only in person; the program does not allow delivery.
Separately, hemp-derived THC products (HB 445, fully effective January 2026) are regulated by the ABC Board - sold only in licensed stores to buyers 21+, capped at 10 mg THC per serving and 40 mg per package, no delivery. Smokable hemp is banned outright: since July 1, 2025, selling or simply possessing hemp flower, pre-rolls or hemp cigars is a Class C felony carrying up to ten years, and prosecutors have applied the same reading to THC vapes. Retail sales also carry a 10 percent excise tax. This is a separate system from the AMCC medical program.
What to Buy in Moores Mill
Product availability in Moores Mill, Auburn follows Alabama regulations. Here's what's available and what to expect:
🌿 Flower
Raw, smokable flower is prohibited under Alabama's medical program and is not sold at any licensed dispensary. There is no pending rule change that would add it.
💨 Vape Cartridges
Vape cartridges are not sold in Alabama's medical program - anything meant to be vaped or smoked is excluded. The only inhaled forms permitted are liquids for a nebulizer or medical inhaler device. Hemp-derived THC vapes fall on the wrong side of HB 445's smokable ban as police and prosecutors have read it, which since July 1, 2025 makes possession as well as sale a Class C felony.
🚬 Pre-Rolls
Pre-rolled joints are not available, since raw flower and smoking are both excluded from the medical program.
🍫 Edibles
Approved forms are non-sugar-coated gelatinous cubes/cuboids, lozenges, tablets, and capsules - not gummies or baked goods. Daily dosing is capped at 50 mg of delta-9 THC (up to 75 mg after 90 days of continuous care with physician sign-off).
💎 Concentrates
Alabama does not sell dabbable concentrates such as wax or shatter. Concentrated oils only appear in approved delivery forms - tinctures, topicals, transdermal patches, and inhaler/nebulizer liquids.
💧 Tinctures & Oils
Tinctures and oils are among the core approved categories and one of the more widely stocked forms at open dispensaries. They are taken sublingually for relatively fast onset and precise, incremental dosing.
🧴 Topicals
Topical gels, oils, and creams are approved for localized relief without significant psychoactive effect. Transdermal patches offer a slower, sustained-release alternative.
Top Cannabis Brands in Moores Mill
These Alabama-licensed brands are available at dispensaries serving Moores Mill, Auburn:
Alabama's licensed retail market only began operating in June 2026, so available brands are limited and will keep changing. The three companies holding dispensary licenses are CCS of Alabama (Callie's Apothecary), GP6 Wellness (BamaBloom), and RJK Holdings AL. A fourth award, to Yellowhammer, remains stayed pending an administrative challenge. Ask dispensary staff which licensed processor supplied a given product and request the batch's independent lab results before buying - required on every approved product.
2026 Cannabis Trends in Alabama
Current market trends affecting shoppers in Moores Mill, Auburn:
Alabama's rollout has moved from zero open stores to two in three months: Montgomery in June 2026 and Talladega in August, with Bessemer, Birmingham and Athens targeted for September. The Gulf Coast is further out - RJK Holdings AL's Mobile and Daphne addresses were still empty units with no announced dates, as were Oxford and Attalla. Integrated cultivation-to-retail licenses sat in contested-case hearings that opened in July 2026, and the Yellowhammer license stayed stayed pending appeal. The approved map is capped at nine cities unless that fourth license clears, which would add Demopolis, Owens Cross Roads and a second Birmingham store. Southeast Alabama and the Shoals have no path to a nearby counter under the current list.
