Boulder built its cannabis identity around the same craft ethos that made it a beer and foodie town first - Wana Brands, now the top-selling edibles company in North America, started here, and several small-batch flower growers in the surrounding foothills supply dispensary shelves that skew premium citywide. CU Boulder's roughly 38,000 students give the city a built-in customer base, concentrated most heavily around University Hill just south of campus.

Pearl Street Mall's pedestrian blocks draw the city's tourist and shopping foot traffic, and a handful of dispensaries sit within a short walk of the mall's east end, catering to visitors browsing the same boutiques and restaurants. Boulder's overall dispensary count is smaller than Denver's, which keeps competition - and price cuts - less aggressive here than on Denver's South Broadway strip.

Retail clusters along a few corridors: Pearl Street's eastern stretch near 28th Street, the University Hill strip along 13th Street serving campus foot traffic, and a handful of shops along the North Broadway commercial corridor. A dispensary on any of those three stretches is easy for a CU student or Pearl Street visitor to find by searching the corridor itself. On the flower and concentrate side, 710 Labs and Green Dot Labs are the two names Colorado's craft-cannabis scene built its reputation on, both known for small-batch, pesticide-free growing and premium live rosin. For vapes, beverages, and topicals, ask the counter staff which brand posts current lab results (a Certificate of Analysis) for the specific batch on the shelf - Colorado requires testing, but potency and freshness still vary store to store.

The 2025-2026 story in Colorado is Colorado Springs finally joining the recreational market after more than a decade of local prohibition, instantly adding the state's second-largest city and its existing medical dispensary base to the adult-use map. Delivery adoption is spreading slowly rather than statewide - watch for more Front Range suburbs following Denver and Aurora's lead rather than a single new state law.
