Macon's early opening gave the surrounding region a head start on medical access that carries into 2026 as SB 220's flower and vape categories reach the same Riverside Drive counter.

Georgia legalized a narrow medical cannabis program in 2015 and spent nearly a decade building almost nothing on top of it - dispensaries did not open until 2023, and the product list stayed frozen at low-THC oil, capsules, and topicals capped at 5% THC.
