Trulieve's Macon location sits along a retail corridor near the Riverside Drive/I-75 interchange, a stretch of national chains and medical offices that any Bibb County business owner would recognize as the city's primary commercial gateway from the interstate. Mercer University's campus and the historic downtown district sit a short drive east, and Middle Georgia State University's presence adds another population of potential patients to the metro area. Macon's early opening gave the surrounding region a head start on medical access that carries into 2026 as SB 220's flower and vape categories reach the same Riverside Drive counter.

Georgia legalized a narrow medical cannabis program in 2015 and spent nearly a decade building almost nothing on top of it - dispensaries did not open until 2023, and the product list stayed frozen at low-THC oil, capsules, and topicals capped at 5% THC.
