Act 752 of 2024 caps hemp edibles at 5 mg of THC per serving, bans every inhalable hemp product outright, and restricts sales to buyers 21 and older at permitted retailers - never gas stations. The headline 2025-2026 story is regulatory, not retail: Act 693 finished moving retailer oversight from the Board of Pharmacy to LDH on January 1, 2025, the March 2025 emergency rule renamed dispensaries to retailers, and a January 2026 final rule locked the framework in. Meanwhile the adult-use pilot bill (HB 627) died without a committee vote when the session closed in June 2025, so the medical-only structure holds through the rest of 2026.
