That local production base means Akron dispensaries often get first access to new releases before they reach stores in Columbus or Cincinnati.

Retail sits downtown on South Summit Street beside the University of Akron campus, in North Hill on East North Street, and out on the city's south and east edges along East Archwood Avenue and Canton Road, with four more counters just outside the line in Cuyahoga Falls and Tallmadge. Highland Square, Fairlawn, Barberton, and Stow have none of their own. A store in any of those corridors competes for a customer base that shops on price first and brand loyalty second, and that price sensitivity has only sharpened since the March 2026 hemp ban pushed former smoke-shop customers into the same storefronts.
