A working medical market with no lounge category, no delivery and no curbside pickup
Mississippi built a medical market quickly after the 2022 Act, and it built it around a single transaction: a registered patient walks into a licensed dispensary and walks out. Regulation prohibits delivery and prohibits curbside pickup, and no consumption venue category exists at all. The hemp shops that used to fill the gap are in a different position since the June 2025 Attorney General opinion.

Mississippi licensed a large number of dispensaries relative to its population, and they carry the full product range including flower. They are in-store counters only. Consumption on the premises is not permitted, and neither delivery nor curbside pickup is allowed.
The Attorney General opinion issued June 11, 2025 treats intoxicating hemp products as controlled substances outside a licensed dispensary. Shops selling those products are in a very different position than they were before that opinion, and none of them can host consumption.
Mississippi recognizes no private-club exemption. There is no consumption license to hold, and membership dues do not create one.
No Mississippi alcohol or gaming license permits cannabis consumption. Gulf Coast casino properties in particular enforce their own rules on top of state law, and they are strict about it.
Licensed consumption venues operate in states with social-use frameworks. Nothing bought there may lawfully be brought into Mississippi, and your Mississippi card does not travel either.

Does Mississippi have cannabis lounges?
No. The Medical Cannabis Act created cultivation, processing, testing, transport and dispensing licenses. There is no consumption or hospitality category.
Can I consume at a Mississippi dispensary?
No. Dispensaries are in-store sales counters. Consumption on the premises is not permitted, and the state also bars delivery and curbside pickup.
Why can dispensaries not deliver?
State regulation prohibits dispensary delivery, and the same rule prohibits curbside pickup. Every purchase happens inside the store, which is unusual even among medical-only states.
Where can a registered patient legally consume?
On private property where the owner permits it. There is no public consumption allowance and no licensed venue anywhere in the state.
What changed for hemp shops in 2025?
Attorney General Opinion 2025-00219, issued June 11, 2025, treats intoxicating hemp products as controlled substances outside a licensed dispensary. That materially narrowed what those shops can lawfully sell.
Can I use a lounge on the Gulf Coast casinos?
No. Gaming and alcohol licenses do not permit cannabis consumption, and casino properties enforce their own rules on top of state law.
Is adult-use legalization coming?
No adult-use framework has been enacted. Mississippi has focused on building out the medical program and on hemp enforcement rather than on social use.
Do out-of-state patients get access?
No. Mississippi does not extend purchase rights to out-of-state cardholders, and there would be nowhere lawful to consume in any case.
