Cannabis Delivery in Mississippi

Delivery is NOT legal in Mississippi, for medical patients, hemp buyers, or anyone else

Mississippi has no recreational cannabis market. Its medical program, created by the Mississippi Medical Cannabis Act in February 2022, is explicit about how sales happen: state regulations prohibit both delivery and curbside pickup at licensed dispensaries. Every purchase requires the registered patient or a registered caregiver to walk into the store. That is true whether you are in Jackson, Gulfport, Hattiesburg, or anywhere else the program has licensed a dispensary. Hemp THC products are not a legal workaround either: Attorney General Opinion 2025-00219, dated June 11, 2025, treats any non-FDA-approved consumable hemp product sold outside a licensed dispensary, including hemp-derived delta-8 and delta-9, as a Schedule I controlled substance, and coast sheriffs began seizing delta-9 products in August 2025. Here is what is actually available.

There are no delivery services to list because state regulation bans both delivery and curbside pickup for medical cannabis, and a 2025 Attorney General opinion closes off hemp THC as a shipped alternative. What exists is a licensed dispensary network only.

Licensed Mississippi Medical Cannabis Dispensaries

Medical dispensary, in-person only

Mississippi has licensed dispensaries operating statewide under the Mississippi Department of Health and Mississippi Department of Revenue, serving registered patients since the program went live in early 2023. Delivery and curbside pickup are both prohibited by state rule, so every sale happens at the counter.

Not a lawful channel

AG Opinion 2025-00219 (June 11, 2025) treats any non-FDA-approved consumable hemp product sold outside a licensed dispensary, including hemp-derived delta-9 and delta-8, as a Schedule I controlled substance. How Mississippi Patients Actually Get Medical Cannabis

There is no delivery driver bringing product to your door. Every legal medical cannabis purchase requires a trip to a licensed dispensary.

1

Confirm a qualifying condition

The Mississippi Medical Cannabis Act lists qualifying conditions including cancer, Parkinson's, PTSD, ALS, Crohn's disease, sickle cell disease, chronic pain, and several others. A practitioner determines whether you qualify.

2

Get certified by a Mississippi practitioner

A licensed physician, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant who has completed the state's required training certifies your qualifying condition through the state's medical cannabis registry.

3

Register with the Mississippi Department of Health

Apply for your medical cannabis card, pay the registration fee, and wait for your ID card, which the program issues once your practitioner certification and application are approved.

4

Visit a licensed dispensary in person

Bring your medical cannabis card and photo ID. Staff verify your registry status before any sale, and there is no delivery or curbside option, so you must go inside.

5

Buy within the 7-day purchase limit

Patients cannot receive more than 21 grams (six MMCEUs) from a dispensary or combination of dispensaries in any 7-day period, tracked through the state's reporting system.

6

Use it privately

Public consumption is prohibited, and driving under the influence carries the same penalties as any other DUI in Mississippi.

What to Expect at a Mississippi Dispensary

Because delivery and curbside pickup are both banned by state rule, the in-store visit is the entire transaction.

  • A check-in desk that verifies your medical cannabis card and photo ID before you can browse the sales floor
  • A budtender consultation on flower, edibles, concentrates, and other product forms carried by that dispensary
  • Flower and trim capped at 30% total THC under state rule; anything higher cannot legally be sold
  • Purchase totals tracked against your rolling 7-day limit of 21 grams across every dispensary you visit
  • No advertising on the dispensary's part, since Mississippi bans cannabis ads in any media, so word of mouth and state directories are how patients find stores
  • Cash or debit depending on the store, since most cannabis businesses cannot use standard card networks
  • Registered caregivers can pick up for a patient, but they must be registered with the state first and present their own caregiver ID

Fees, Limits and Penalties

The numbers that matter in Mississippi are purchase caps and registration costs, not delivery fees, because delivery is banned by rule.

Delivery fee None. Delivery and curbside pickup are both prohibited
Purchase limit 21 grams (6 MMCEUs) per dispensary or combination of dispensaries, per 7-day period
THC cap on flower/trim 30% total THC maximum for any flower or trim product sold
Location restriction Dispensaries cannot operate within 1,000 feet of a school, church, or childcare facility without approval
Recreational possession Illegal statewide outside the registered medical program
Delta-8 and delta-9 hemp cannabinoids Treated as a Schedule I controlled substance outside a licensed dispensary under AG Opinion 2025-00219 (June 11, 2025) and existing controlled substances law

Tips for Mississippi Patients and Shoppers

  • Do not trust any Mississippi-facing website or app that claims to deliver medical cannabis. State rule bans both delivery and curbside pickup, no exceptions
  • Bring your card and photo ID to every dispensary visit, since both are checked at the door before you can browse
  • Track your own rolling 7-day purchase total if you use more than one dispensary, since the 21-gram cap applies across all of them combined
  • Do not buy delta-8, delta-9 or similar hemp products from a Mississippi smoke shop or online retailer shipping into the state. AG Opinion 2025-00219 (June 11, 2025) treats them as a Schedule I controlled substance, and coast sheriffs have been seizing product since August 2025
  • Do not bring cannabis in from another state, even a legal one, since crossing state lines with cannabis is a federal offense
  • Because dispensaries cannot advertise, check the Mississippi Department of Health's licensed dispensary list directly rather than relying on search ads
  • Renew your card before it expires. A lapsed card means you go back to square one with practitioner certification

Common Questions

Can I get cannabis delivered anywhere in Mississippi?

No. Mississippi state regulation explicitly prohibits both delivery and curbside pickup for medical cannabis, and there is no recreational market at all.

Can medical cannabis patients get delivery in Mississippi?

No. Every registered patient must purchase in person at a licensed dispensary. This is not a gap in the law, it is a specific prohibition written into the program's regulations.

Why doesn't Mississippi allow delivery like some other medical states?

The Mississippi Medical Cannabis Act and its implementing regulations were built around in-person, pharmacist-adjacent dispensing with strict tracking. Lawmakers have not amended the program to add delivery.

How much medical cannabis can I buy at once in Mississippi?

Up to 21 grams (six MMCEUs) from a dispensary or combination of dispensaries in any rolling 7-day period, tracked through the state reporting system.

Are delta-8 gummies from a gas station legal in Mississippi?

No. AG Opinion 2025-00219, dated June 11, 2025, found that non-FDA-approved consumable hemp products sold outside a licensed dispensary, including delta-8, are a Schedule I controlled substance under state law, closing off the retail lane for those products.

Can I have hemp delta-9 products shipped to my Mississippi address?

No. AG Opinion 2025-00219 (June 11, 2025) treats non-FDA-approved consumable hemp delta-9 products sold outside a licensed dispensary as a Schedule I controlled substance, and coast sheriffs have been seizing shipped and retail product since August 2025. There is no lawful channel to have these products delivered to a Mississippi address.

Can I use my out-of-state medical card in Mississippi?

No. Mississippi dispensaries sell only to patients registered in the state's own medical cannabis program.

Is there a curbside option if I cannot walk into the dispensary?

No. Curbside pickup is specifically prohibited by the same regulation that bans delivery. Every sale has to happen inside the licensed premises.

Will Mississippi ever allow medical cannabis delivery?

There is no pending legislation with momentum to change this as of 2026. The program is still relatively young, having launched dispensing in 2023, and delivery is not part of the current framework.
