Every legal sale runs through the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board (LCB), which licenses producers, processors, and retailers under a strict seed-to-sale traceability system. Retail purchases are limited to adults 21 and older with valid ID, capped at 1 oz of usable flower per transaction (with separate limits for concentrates, solids, and liquids). There is no medical-versus-recreational split in the store experience the way some states run it - Washington folded most medical access into the general adult-use system years ago, though a smaller medical marijuana authorization card program still exists for patients who want sales-tax exemptions and higher possession limits. The excise tax is steep: 37% on top of standard state and local sales tax, collected at the register and baked into the shelf price you see.
